Product Stewardship is when manufacturers, brand owners, importers and retailers accept responsibility for reducing a product’s environmental impact.

It is much more than just recycling. It’s a whole lifecycle approach to products, starting with the design of the packaging, through to its use and subsequent disposal to ensure the smallest environmental footprint.

It’s a move away from a linear – make, take and waste economy – to a circular one, where waste is recovered, recycled and reused.
